Marine & Lawn Resorts launches Marine Troon this June

Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce that Marine Troon will officially  launch on 1st June along the Ayrshire Coast in the seaside town of Troon. The reimagined 89-key Marine Troon  will feature redesigned guest rooms, a unique restaurant and bar in partnership with White Rabbit Projects and  renovated spa and leisure offerings. Founded in 2021 with the launches of Rusacks St Andrews and Marine North  Berwick, Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts is a collection of bespoke hotels in the world’s most distinguished golf  destinations. With design led by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house interior design studio, Marine Troon encapsulates  the maritime setting of the town, the local golf heritage and traditional Scottish themes and patterns to establish  a sense of place felt throughout the hotel.

“We are delighted to be launching Marine Troon nestled amidst yet another spectacular Scottish golf and leisure  destination,” said Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. “Our team is honoured to continue  growing the brand across unforgettable destinations, and offer guests distinct hospitality experiences resulting  in memorable stays for all. We are fully confident that Marine Troon will bring a strong new offering to the  surrounding area, by celebrating the rich and natural heritage and simultaneously extending a sophisticated  hospitality”.

Previously The Marine Hotel, the reimagined property will debut with redesigned guest rooms, The Rabbit  restaurant, The Seal bar, and refreshed Wellness amenities equipped with both spa and leisure facilities  including an indoor pool, squash court, sauna and treatment rooms. Boasting unobstructed views of the 1st and  18th fairways of Royal Troon's Old Course, which has played host to nine Open Championships, Marine Troon  will once again find itself at the heart of The Open golf tournament in 2024.

Only four miles from Prestwick International Airport and an hour outside Glasgow, Troon is a charming seaside  town in Ayrshire, Scotland, that overlooks the Isle of Arran. While the golf course is renowned worldwide, the  destination is also a popular coastal town that plays host to many visitors and beach-goers each summer. The  main town, which has a number of independent cafés, unique boutiques and shops, is only a stone’s throw away  from the property, and the bustling harbour is home to Ayrshire's fish market, which supplies locally-caught fish  and seafood to quality restaurants at the nearby marina, including The Rabbit. For golf adventurers, the Ayrshire

coast is a linksland mecca, located an hour outside of Glasgow and home to some of the finest golf courses in the world, including Royal Troon, Prestwick, and Turnberry.

Rooms and Design

Reopening after an extensive property refresh, the redesign will be across public spaces, food and beverage  venues and a portion of guest rooms named the ‘Marine’ category. Led by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house design  team, the property takes design inspiration from Scotland's rich golf history, complemented with distinct decor  celebrating the hotel’s coastal positioning.

The design in the ‘Marine’ guest rooms celebrates Troon's seaside charm with elevated coastal touches and  elegant décor, such as woven seagrass chandeliers, seersucker chairs and jewel-toned tapestry carpets. The  oceanic toile wallpaper nods to seagrass and seaweed, and seascape artwork in curated frames adorn the walls  - the design of these rooms lean into the relaxed atmosphere of Troon being a sleepy seaside town. All ‘Marine’  rooms will offer expansive views of the rugged coast, which influences the oceanic materials and coastal touches  to come to play.

Each room is home to a bespoke sketch by the talented British design star Luke Edward Hall, of Arthur Havers,  who won the Claret Jug in 1923 at Royal Troon. The signature ‘Sea View’ category offers brilliant views of the  Ayrshire coastline, with some also overlooking the legendary Royal Troon Golf Club's Old Course and Portland  Course. The bathrooms are adorned in elegant and rich emerald glossy tiles, which are juxtaposed with antique  carved wooden mirrors. The standout carvings are of thistles, the national flower of Scotland.

The reception area is gracefully dressed in mahogany, chestnut and marble, with a custom-made flora, fauna,  and coastal wallpaper on the ceiling, representative of botanicals local to the Troon region. The lobby’s seating  area is filled with welcoming soft textures like navy velvet, cognac leathers and rustic woods, designed to feel  like a clubhouse for golfers, tourists and adventurers of all kinds. Guests can lounge in the ground floor bar area  where they can dine and rest, surrounded by striking views complemented by handsome drapery.

Dining

Marine & Lawn has once again partnered with restaurant developer, White Rabbit Projects to launch and run all  food and beverage outlets at Marine Troon. The menus at The Rabbit restaurant and The Seal bar, which have  been led by Marine & Lawn Rusacks St Andrews’ Executive Chef and Masterchef The Professionals winner, Derek  Johnstone, will champion hyper-seasonal, local ingredients together with Scottish seafood and game,  showcasing the very best of classic British cooking. Local suppliers from Ayrshire are used, including Hendricks  gin direct from their nearby Girvan base and single malt whisky from the Isle of Arran Distillery, just across the  water.

The Rabbit restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner, and will be a welcoming setting for any meal, from  casual breakfasts or afternoon tea breaks to smart weekday dinners. The restaurant will overlook its namesake,  Hole 17, Royal Troon's trickiest par three. A range of special dishes will be available on the menu such as the fish  of the day from Troon Harbour. Sample dishes include Ayrshire mussels with nduja, fennel, cider and lovage,  and Scottish bouillabaisse with sea vegetables and home-made sourdough. A Sunday Roast menu will be  available from midday to 5pm, with highlights including herb roast free- range chicken; roast rump of longhorn  beef or a pot roast cauliflower with spring truffle and toasted seeds, all served with Yorkshire pudding, roast  potatoes, buttered greens and glazed carrots.

The 78-cover restaurant has been designed in keeping with the historic 19th century hotel with an emphasis on  timeless grandeur that’s balanced with a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The space is designed to take advantage  of the coastal views with quirky maximalist touches that mark the golf heritage of the property. Chandeliers

crafted from burl wood and coastal driftwood give a warm glow, and generous soft furnishings of velvet promise  a comfortable, laid-back setting for guests.

The Seal bar provides a relaxed option for all-day dining, cocktails and light bites. The all-day dining menu will  feature dishes including roast lemon chicken, raw vegetables and herb salad; cured local charcuterie with pickles  and bread; or haggis bon bons with a local Arran mustard. Afternoon Tea is served between 12-4pm Friday to  Sunday, with house-made cakes and cream tea available for hotel guests, the local community and visitors alike.  The Seal is dog-friendly with equally unrivalled views of Ayrshire’s coastline and has been designed with guests’  comfort in mind. Bookings can be made via www.therabbitandseal.com.

Wellness Facilities

Following a refresh, Wellness at Marine Troon will encompass both a spa and leisure facilities, and will offer an  indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, squash court, four treatment rooms (including one couples treatment room), a gym  and nail bar. Guests swimming in the pool will enjoy the charming views of Royal Troon and the neighbouring  sea, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall.

Wellness at Marine Troon has partnered with two wellness brands, including Ishga, of Scotland. The name ‘ishga’  is derived from the Gaelic word for water; the pure, clean waters of the Hebridean Islands off the north west  coast of Scotland is home to ishga, and where the brand sustainably hand harvest the seaweed that's at the  heart of their skincare range. Hebridean seaweed contains natural antioxidants with properties which transform  and protect skin. A highlight treatment is the “Golfer’s Deep Tissue Massage”, for guests to enjoy after a day out  on the course. A powerful and deep massage essential for relief of aching muscles, it uses muscle recovery oil -  fucus serratus extract - a natural anti-inflammatory, to relieve physical fatigue, and rosemary to ease muscle  pain (£85 for 55 minutes; £110 for 90 minutes).

The Wellness amenities will also offer skincare products by Made for Life Organics. Developed from an orthodox  medical background, the products combine dermatological science with the strength and purity of botanicals.  Their formulations are created using the synergy of organic herbs and flowers to be effective and uplifting. The  “Hand on Heart” treatment, for the back, face and scalp is a combination of deep breathing exercises and slow  Tui Na Chinese massage techniques to rebalance and calm the upper body (£95 for 90 minutes).
