Scotland's Less Obvious Season 2 ep.10 - Shiskine

Shiskine is a great place to spend some time. The course itself has 12 holes and is a seaside links course with wonderful views. Always in great condition, the greens staff take great pride in the course and work very hard to maintain it to a very high standard. Founded in 1896 with many “blind” holes with names such as the “Crows Nest” and the “Himalayas”.

The course architect was Willie Fernie of Troon, a notable golfer of that era, who designed the original 9-hole course. Currently the 5th and 9th holes are the only survivors of the original concept, with the Paradise Tee the only one standing on its exact pristine site, but then played to what our present 1st green.

So hope on that ferry to the Isle of Arran and make sure you go play this unique, quirky and fun 12 holes. You won’t regret it.
