As we step onto the pristine fairways of The Machrie, we are greeted by breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and rolling dunes. Designed by Willie Campbell and more recently modernised by course architect DJ Russell, The Machrie combines the very best of a traditional, historic links course from a previous age, with a modern links.
The wind whispers tales of ancient battles as we navigate our way through the challenging links layout. Every shot is a test of skill and strategy, with undulating greens and treacherous bunkers awaiting errant shots. But amidst the challenges lies an undeniable sense of serenity and awe, as the natural beauty of Islay envelops us in its embrace.
