Erik Anders Lang South East Scotland Itinerary

In 2018 we asked Erik Anders Lang and his crew to come to Scotland to film a new series. The Official Unofficial Golf Guide to Scotland became a global hit with over 1.5 million views to date. The guys would go on to play 24 courses in 16 days! Here is part 2 - The South East Coast

Have you ever thought about taking that same tour of Scotland? Or perhaps parts of it? Well, let us break it down into some mini tours and give you a sample of Erik’s itinerary in each area he visited. Lets get things moving on to the south East coast, specifically in the East Lothian region where their journey continues in part 2.

DAY 1

Check in at The Dunsmuir Hotel in Dunbar, one of Scotland’s most welcoming golf hotels. Morning tee time at Dunbar Golf Club, a brilliant links course sandwiched between a 700 year old wall and the sea. Dinner at the Bonnie Badger in Gullane is always a treat.

DAY 2

Mid Morning tee time at Kilspindie Golf Club, traditional links course measuring just under 6000 yards and opening with a par 3! Afternoon spent walking through Gullane with a visit to Jack Whites hickory shop.

Evening spent at Ducks Bar with host Malcolm Duck taking on the famous bar stool putting game for a place on the wall of fame.

DAY 3

Check out of the Dunmuir Hotel and head for a morning round at The Renaissance Club, host to the 2019/20 Scottish Open. Designed by Tom Doak, this American style links offers a one time experience to visiting golfers.

On route to next destination why not stop off at Old Musselburgh Links, the oldest course in the world. It’s only 9 holes and will only set you back £16. Erik and the guys didn’t have time to play, rather just a swing past to check it out.

East Lothian better known as Scotland’s Golf coast has 21 courses including Muirfield, North Berwick and Gullane. It’s also the cradle of golf where the game was said to be born.
